After watching the Apple WWDC video I am dumping Arlo. @Jamesk811 eufy cam2 is on sale from Amazon, today only as daily deal. We greatly appreciate the community’s contribution and will keep the status of this idea updated as we get new information on its potential implementation. Please click on the link in the email to confirm your subscription. Contact with Arlo employees has indicated that support is not possible due to differences between Arlo camera features and the features that Apple supports with HSV. The cameras on the Apple site you linked that support HomeKit secure video have a dot. Otherwise, register and sign in. The Arlo development team routinely reviews posts in the Arlo Idea Exchange to assess which features the community would like to see implemented. Since it came with the Home Base, I'll be picking up add-on cameras as well. Visit our support page for answers from simple setup to security optimization. By definition, if you are a company that produces Security Cameras of all types that are stated to support Apple. For example, the Logitech Circle View and the Eve Cam doesn't have its own app. It took about about 1.5 seconds on average to receive a Person/Animal/Vehicle notification and video stream was able to start so much quicker. those customers with lower bandwidth connections to decide the stream they’d like to upload for themselves, based on their knowledge of the performance of their connections and sub systems. Although there are lots of us asking for it in this thread, you never truly know if you're simply part of a loud minority of a product's customer base, so I understand if we are, and Arlo is never going to support HKSV. The ridiculous lag that exists on every Arlo product, which gets even worse when using Arlo Smart, is non-existent with HomeKit Secure Video. That alone is amazing. A confirmation email has been sent to: . (or elsewhere for that matter) regarding this topic from Arlo at any level. Is this correct? It’s hard to believe that Arlo have still not implemented this most important part of Apple HomeKit. When I told him about it, he blamed it on apple. It’s dismaying that after several months, we have not even had a response within this forum. Jimkas, thank you for you response. I truly hope Arlo reconsiders their decision to not support this vital feature of HomeKit Video Secure. If it were going into the roadmap I would happily keep them. In knowing that Apple HKSV does not currently support UHD (per your statement) amongst some other up and coming technologies, would you not agree that a step in the right direction would be to add support as per the HKSV current spec?I’m sure many customers would be more than happy to see Arlo take a step in the right direction in adding Apple HKSV support at a user selectable 720p or 1080p as the security benefits that come with these are immense and a primary goal from our perspective. You must be a registered user to add a comment. Have additional questions? @dgperkins I agree with everything you've said there. Please message this to the ceo of Arlo!!! On his Twitter account... so he knows people want this feature... send him a DM. You have my contact details, just let me know. This is the desired feature I was referring to. Or it is not going to happen at all as Arlo sells its own cloud storage? This is a deal breaker. Apple announced a new service called Homekit Secure Video...they announced three companies that will start implementing it but unfortunately arlo was Arlo is the world's first 100 percent wireless high-definition smart home security camera. But I'd like to believe that they're not so short-sighted and stubborn to shoot themselves in the foot to achieve this, since HKSV is the future, whether Arlo acknowledges it or not. As a person who picked up a 4 pack of Arlo Ultra cameras after the HomeKit Secure Video announcement, I'm very, Very, VERY disappointed that support is not in the cards. I only came to this forum based on news reports of non-support breaking recently. I agree 100% with you! Our team of Arlo experts is ready to answer your questions and help in any way that we can. Arlo withholding HomeKit Secure Video was a dealbreaker for me -- no use in a half-baked product, especially when the flaw is a security issue. HomeKit Secure video and all the new features in iOS 14 look amazing. You simply plug it in, open Apple's Home app, scan the HomeKit code and you're good to go. Auto-suggest helps you quickly narrow down your search results by suggesting possible matches as you type. UHD support should be added as and when Apple HKSV can support and have proven on their and even then should be a user selectable option.
